All of our girls recreational and developmental gymnastics classes follow a progressive lesson plan developed by our Program Directors, Alexsis Espiriti and Amanda Smith. These lessons are influenced by the USA Gymnastics leveling system as well as over a decade of coaching experience.
Leaping Lizards Recreational Classes
Girls Beginning Leaping Lizards
Age Groups: 5-6, 6-8
During this stage of development, it is important to keep kids involved in physical fitness. The Beginning Leaping Lizards classes teach kids the importance of physical fitness through gymnastics. Girls are challenged to learn specific gymnastics skills that are conducted on all of the Olympic events. Progress is monitored through a star chart and a written evaluation form is completed by coaches during week six during Sessions 3 and 6. Advancement to the Intermediate Level is based on meeting 80% of the skills required for their level and coach’s recommendation.
Girls Intermediate Leaping Lizards
Age Groups: 5-6, 6-8, 9-11, 11+
During these classes children continue developing their strength and flexibility and are gradually challenged to complete more complex gymnastics skills. Upon 80% mastery of the intermediate level skills, kids are ready to move up to either a developmental or advanced level class.
(Enrollment per Program Director recommendation only)
Age Group: 3-5
The Hotshots class is an advanced level preschool class which continues to work on gymnastics skills on the Olympic apparatuses, but focuses more on the flexibility and strength which are needed to advance into the Devos class. The Hotshots class requires a minimum of one hour of training per week.
Age Group: 6-8
Devos is an advanced level developmental class that steers children toward Preteam. Devos work on short gymnastics routines on the Olympic apparatuses in addition to the strength and flexibility training. The Devos class requires a minimum of 1.5 hours of training per week.
Level 3 Developmental Class

Gymnastics training becomes more structured and flows toward developing the skills needed to become a team member. Strength training, flexibility and advanced skill development are focused upon. Level 3 “Team” skills and routines are taught and girls are prepared to take on the challenges of being a part of the competitive team.
